Lightning strikes Calgary faculty, setting fireplace on roof – Calgary

Lightning struck James Fowler Excessive College in Calgary on Saturday, prompting a small fireplace on its roof.

The Calgary Hearth Division responded to the varsity, situated at 4004 4 St. N.W., at 1:30 p.m. and “rapidly extinguished the fireplace.”

“Crews are at the moment investigating and dealing with the Calgary Board of Training to verify the lightning strike has not brought about another injury to {the electrical} system or another components of the varsity,” the CFD said in a news release.
